Life Tech focused on the human body—how we use technology to learn more about our own bodies and the genetic blueprint for life, the tools and technology of medicine, and the ingenious augmentation of the body and enhancement of our own abilities through technology. Materials science has given rise to an array of new devices in biomimetic treatments, prosthetics, and athletic equipment. The ethical questions that modern technology poses can be as familiar as prenatal testing or as forbidding as including one’s genetic code in our medical files
